Targus Targets 'Elite' Cases Toward Discerning Notebook Users

Targus exhibited its new line of Elite Series notebook carrying cases here at CES two weeks ago, consisting of the Commuter Case, Notebook Backpack and the Easy Roller, which all can accommodate notebooks with screens up to 15 inches.

Representing the company's "finest materials, construction and features wrapped into three different formats," the Elite Series is designed to accommodate the most demanding and discriminating notebook users."

Notable features of the three Elite products is an air cushioning system, pneumatic wheels on the TR701 EasyRoller, shock-absorption design and zip-down workstation with 15 different pockets and pouches.

The TR301 Commuter Case and TR701 feature ergonomic handles that lock together and fit naturally in the palm of a hand, while a powerful retractable penlight is inside of the workstation of the Commuter and EasyRoller cases.

Elite portable storage from the Anaheim, Calif.-based Targus includes size-specific compartments to hold a PDA, power adapters, external hard drives and a cellphone.

Suggested retails are $79 for the TR601 Notebook Backpack, $99 for the Commuter Case and $149 for the EasyRoller.
