A new multimedia headset, specially designed for computer games, made its debut from Sennheiser Communications at International CES earlier this month. Called the ultimate headset for computer gamers “who only want the best for serious online match play, competition or LAN party,” the PC 160, which is an upgrade of the company's PC 150, provides true-to-life sound for superior gaming performance, said the Old Lyme, Conn.-based Sennheiser.

The PC 160 will be available in March at a suggested $99. A $119 version offers bigger speakers

Also new from Sennheiser are two home-listening headset models that feature detailed, dynamic sound; headband geometry; and large, ultra-soft ear pads.

The HD 465 offers outstanding comfort; convenient single-sided cable; lightweight aluminum voice coils; and 1/4-inch screw-on jack adapter. Availability is March at a suggested $79.95.

The HD 485 includes a headset holder that easily attaches to a table or shelf; detailed stereo sound, excellent dynamics; and detachable, single-sided cable. Suggested retail is $99.95, and availability also is March.

Two new lightweight, comfortable designs — the HD 201 and HD 215 — offer listeners over-the-ear closed-back designs that deliver outstanding attenuation of ambient noise, encouraging wearers to become fully immersed in sound without undue distractions, said Sennheiser.

The HD 201, at a suggested $24.95 retail, offers powerful stereo sound and a rich, crisp bass response. These are extremely rugged and come with a 1/4-inch jack adapter.

The HD 215, at a suggested $149.95, includes spatial sound image and clear stereo sound, an ear cup that rotates for one-ear mounting, protective pouch and single-side detachable coiled cable.

Both the HD 201 and HD 215 will be available in March.
