Sakar International is introducing its Cooler Sound Case, a weatherproof case for iPod, MP3 and digital music players that includes built-in speakers and an insulated compartment designed for carrying food and drinks.
Ideal for picnics or work lunches, the case, which is the newest addition to Sakar's Sound Case family of products, is 14 inches by 10 inches by 10 inches. It is wired for sound and includes integrated speakers that amplify audio so users can listen to, and share, their favorite music no matter where they may be, said the company.
The case features a convenient control panel on the side of the bag so music can be turned on or off without accessing the device.
The Cooler runs on a 9-volt battery and receives its audio feed through a built-in connector that plugs into the device's headphone jack. Suggested retail is $49.99.
Sakar also has debuted a line of accessories dedicated to Apple's iPod Nano, including silicon, leather and arm band cases, as well as protective clear skins. The cases, which are new additions to Sakar's MP3 Gear iPod and MP3 accessories lineup, come in a wide variety of colors at suggested retails ranging from $14.99 to $29.99. Shipping had been scheduled for early fall.
