Home Depot has selected Rayovac as a major branded battery supplier, joining Duracell and Energizer.
To capture battery sales from contractors, do-it-yourselfers and everyday shoppers, Rayovac said Home Depot will stock 11 different Rayovac-branded Maximum alkaline battery assortments. Seven of these will feature Rayovac's reclosable and reusable clear plastic packaging that keeps batteries organized, upright and in plain sight.
The alkaline batteries will be placed in designated battery sections and cross-merchandised at secondary locations throughout the stores. Branded alkaline batteries will be available in 458 Home Depot locations in 24 states that make up the retailer's New England, mid-Atlantic and Midwest divisions, said Rayovac.
In the rechargeable battery category, Rayovac will supply all Home Depot stores in the United States, said the manufacturer. Home Depot will sell Rayovac's full line of rechargeable alkaline batteries and battery chargers.
In addtion, the company's high-capacity rechargeable nickel metal hydride batteries will be stocked. Rayovac also said its new one-hour charger will be featured later this fall in 1,077 Home Depot units.
The alkaline, rechargeable alkaline and rechargeable NiMH batteries and battery chargers will begin shipping this summer.
