PowerSquid Surge Protector Quartet Bowed

A line of four PowerSquid surge protectors is new from Flexity. All four units offer six transformer-compatible outlets, with joule ratings rising from 1080 for the SQ1K to 3240 for the top-of-the-line Calamari-SQ3K. The SQ2K has a joule rating of 2160 and the SQ3K (non-Calamari) is 3240.

The difference between the Calamari and the SQ3K is the higher-end unit offers a 58dB EMI/RFI filter, compared with 40dB for the SQ3K, and the Calamari has $500,000 in connected equipment insurance and an 8-foot cord, compared with $400,000 and 6 feet for the SQ3K.

The SQ1K has $200,000 in insurance and the SQ2K has $300,000. Both offer 40dB filters, with the SQ1K having a 6-foot cord and the SQ2K 8 feet.

All four products in the PowerSquid line offer 15-amp breaker, phone-line protection, tripwire circuit, phone-line splitter and cable/coax protection. All include power, surge status and ground status indicators, and come with a “rugged” ABS case, keyhole mounting slots and rubber-skid feet.

The Calamari, alone, includes an audible alarm, swivel plug with a 360-degree profile and neon-illuminated outlets.

Body colors are white for the Calamari and black for the others. Shield color for the SQ1K is clear, with blue for the others.

Suggested retails are $79.95 for the Calamari-SQ3K, $69.95 for the SQ3K, $59.95 for the SQ2K and $49.95 for the SQ1K.
