Plantronics Hits The Road With Sound Coach

Santa Cruz, Calif. — Plantronics has launched a road trip across the United States to educate and train the company’s channel partners and end-users on the benefits of wireless headset products. At the heart of the effort is the Sound Coach, a 44-foot long mobile marketing vehicle.

As part of Plantronics’ Connect partner program, the Sound Coach will travel across the United States and make stops at major industry events, channel partner sales offices and stores of select retail and carrier partners. Visitors of the Sound Coach can take part in “Sound Innovation Experience” tours, comprised of several interactive modules that illustrate how Plantronics headsets can enhance communication and entertainment experiences, according to the company.

The tour includes self-guided iPod audio tours that highlight the company’s history, headset technology fundamentals and emerging trends driving headset usage for both businesses and consumers.

Product demonstrations will feature Plantronics’ newest corded and wireless solutions for use with office, home and mobile phones, VoIP and PC and console gaming.

For retail salespeople, there will be an immersive presentation focused on current headset market opportunities with tips on identifying the ideal Plantronics headset and a brief Q&A session with a Plantronics specialist to receive a certificate of completion confirming their education on Plantronics’ products.

“The Sound Coach is a unique educational resource designed to provide a myriad of benefits to our channel partners all over the U.S.,” said Kelly Myers-Santos, business solutions channel marketing director at Plantronics. “When partners leave, they’ll have a much better understanding of how our solutions fit within all aspects of their customers’ lives, and be better equipped to capitalize on the rapidly growing wireless communications market.”

Launched in November 2005, Plantronics Connect is a comprehensive partner program designed to energize channel partners’ business with training, certifications, sales, marketing and technical support tailored to their specific needs, said Plantronics. More than 3,000 partners are members of the Connect program.

The Plantronics Sound Coach’s first stop is at the VoiceCon Spring tradeshow, March 5-8, in Orlando, Fla. The Sound Coach will then visit numerous cities in Florida before driving across the United States. More information about the tour is available by e-mailing [email protected].
