Peerless Redesigns Mount Adapter Plate

Significant improvements have been made for two universal projector ceiling mounts at Peerless Industries. The announcement about models RTPJ-UN and RTR-UN made at International CES, held here early in January, concerns a redesigned adapter plate that comes completely preassembled, making installation easy and intuitive, said the Melrose Park, Ill.-based company.

Now, Peerless said, consumers can mount virtually any projector for home or office and feel confident it will be simple to install and look good in the room. Retailers will have one comprehensive mounting solution in a single SKU to stock and manage, said Peerless.

With the redesigned plate, mounts are ready to be attached to a projector right out of the box, ideal for the do-it-yourself home entertainment enthusiast, said the company. The plate's four adjustable legs can be quickly and easily aligned to a projector's mounting holes by simply holding the plate up to the projector, adjusting the settings on the legs and attaching it to the projector mount.

Available in black, silver or white finishes, the RTR-UN is said to be ideal for home theaters, with the discreet, low-profile projector mount featuring three points of adjustment.

The RTPJ-UN is the quickest to install with its single point of adjustment simplifying the projector placement, said Peerless. It can be mounted directly to the ceiling or attached to an extension column to accommodate a variety of applications. Both mounts feature internal cord management paths.

The RTR-UN, at a suggested $240 retail, and the RTPJ-UN, at $169, with the redesigned adapter plate, have a March availability.

Peerless also said at CES it has redesigned four of its universal flat-panel wall mounts for mid- and large-size screens. The new mounts incorporate a simplified design for the home said to be up to 40 percent higher and 30 percent stronger than the leading competitor's mounts.

The mid-size flat panel universal flat and tilt RTFPF-220 and RTFPT-220 wall mounts accommodate 23-inch to 46-inch LCD screens and offer 6-inches of side-to-side screen adjustment. The large-size flat-panel universal flat and tilt RTFPF-320 and RTFPT2-320 wall mounts are for 32-inch to 60-inch plasma and LCD screens and provide up to 12 inches of side-to-side screen adjustment.

Units are available in black and silver, with the line shipping in February at suggested retails ranging from $80 to $250, depending on the model.
