SECAUCUS, N.J. — Panasonic Consumer Electronics has added model EP-1022 to its line of massage lounge chairs. The company said the new model achieves an attractive new price point of $2,295 and will ship in May.

The Panasonic lounger offers a convenient alternative of enjoying a custom-tailored massage in the user's home. Said to emulate the technique used by professional acupressure massage therapists, the new model "brings the benefits of this celebrated therapeutic art to a broader audience," according to the company.

Using the easy-to-operate controller, consumers can choose from three pre-programmed sessions. Users can also customize the type of massage action, utilizing three massage techniques — kneading, tapping and rolling.

All Panasonic massage loungers incorporate a patented "S" curve rolling massage track, which follows the natural curvature of the human spine.

Constructed with a durable, solid-steel frame, the EP-1022 features rear wheels and removable arms for easy mobility. It is available in two colors: sandstone and black.
