Panasonic is debuting a Deluxe Set of six 1600 mAh AA and two 650 mAh AAA nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries, exclusively for buying clubs Costco and BJ's.
The package features a Fast Charger, which fully recharges batteries in less than five hours, to power such consumer electronics products as digital cameras, portable CD players and hand-held PCs.
It also offers C- and D-size battery adapters that make it possible on a temporary basis to use AA and AAA batteries in applications that call for larger C and D cells.
Suggested retail for the Deluxe Set of NiMH rechargeable batteries and charger is $24.99. A $5 mail-in rebate also is included.
Panasonic said the price deal represents a "unique value" when compared with other currently available products, which range in price from $17.99 to $39.99, and include only two to four NiMH rechargeable batteries packaged with a charger.
NiMH batteries are said to last 2.4 times longer than nickel cadmium batteries.
