A new lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery digital camera charger from Maxell Corp. of America, called the DC 3000, helps users deal with the power demands of feature-rich digital camera batteries — namely continuous shooting, increased pixels, LCD monitoring and high-speed data storage.
The DC 3000 universal fast charger powers up all major makers' batteries, including 3-volt and 7-volt models. It is designed for use with Li-ion batteries installed in Sony, Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Kodak, Casio, Olympus and similar digital cameras. AC/DC power adapters for use in the home or car are included.
To help promote charger sales, Maxell takes advantage of consumer-friendly packaging, strong on-shelf presence and a powerful brand name, according to the company. Packaging features a strong Maxell brand communication, while emphasizing the digital camera application of the product, pointing up the battery chemistry and communicating the camera brand compatibility.
Retailers get a dedicated digital camera battery planogram and cross-referencing guides as an organizing tool for a complete digital-camera replacement-battery retail solution.
Suggested retail is $49.99.
