M-Edge Introduces Kindle Jackets For Troops

ODENTON, MD. — M-Edge Accessories has launched a line of Kindle jackets designed for the U.S. Army, Marines and Navy, in conjunction with a program designed to get e-readers in the hands of deployed soldiers.

The camouflaged-patterned line consists of three styles from the company’s existing Sport Line. Each model, constructed of ripstop nylon with a gray fleece interior, is engineered to protect the e-reader from sand, wear and tear, and screen scratches.

The Leisure jacket (listed at $34.99 on MEdge’s Web site) has a clear vinyl cover that provides functionality of the buttons and keyboard, while the Latitude jacket ($34.99) zips closed using a hidden double zipper. The messenger- style Journey bag ($29.99) can house the Kindle and its accessories.

Each case comes in three camouflage patterns: Desert, Wilderness and Ocean. M-Edge also said it has partnered with Len Edgerly of The Kindle Chronicles, a weekly podcast about the Kindle, which raises money to provide Kindles for Army Sergeants deployed on active duty in Afghanistan (as part of EBooks for Troops). MEdge said it will donate a camoufl age jacket and e- Luminator booklight for each Kindle purchased by E-Books for Troops.

“We want to show our appreciation for the men and women fighting overseas day in and day out on our behalf, and our Camouflage Jacket launch is a meaningful connection to the cause,” said Patrick Mish, CEO of MEdge Accessories, in a release.
