Imation Line Zeros In On SO/HO

Imation is introducing a premium series of optical media, called Business Select, ideal for the small office/home office (SO/HO) environment. The series of media includes a full portfolio of recordable and rewritable CD and DVD products that deliver high-capacity storage, performance and reliability to the data-intensive SO/HO user.

With managing digital content key to the product, Business Select media offers a scratch resistant surface, stable recording dyes that contribute to lower error rates, tests for stringent error rate and specification standards and safeguards for information against harsh environmental elements.

The Business Select CD-R discs have write speeds up to 48x, feature a storage capacity of 700MB/80 min. and are available in a 10-pack in standard jewels, 20-pack in slim line jewel cases or 50-pack spindle.

Developed for repeat performance, the Imation Business Select CD-RW discs are a rewritable alternative to the CD-R disc. Discs can be rewritten up to 1,000 times, feature noise-free playback, storage capacity up to 700MB/80 min. and recording speeds up to 4X. These are available in a 10-pack or 15-pack spindle.

Business Select DVD media, with the storage capacity of seven CDs, is available in both write-once and rewritable formats in capacities up to 4.7GB, including DVD-R/+R and DVD+RW. Each format is available in a 10-pack.

Imation suggested retails are as follows: 48x CD-R 700MB/80 min. 10-pack, $12.56; 20-pack, $25.11; and 50-pack spindle, $45; the 4x CD-RW 700MB/80 min. 10-pack and 15-pack spindle, $24.78; the 4.7 GB DVD+R and -R 10 packs, $60; and the 4.7 GB DVD+RW 10-pack, $75.53. The soon-to-be-available DVD-RW packs will also be $75.53.

"DVD is going to grow dramatically over the next five years," said David Ferraresi, Imation's personal storage media VP. "The need for high-quality media and service drove the development of our new Business Select line."
