PALO ALTO, CALIF. – Hewlett-Packard announced
several PC accessories, including
a Wi-Fi mouse.
The Wi-Fi Mobile Mouse, $49, directly
connects to the computer without the need
for a USB dongle, the company said. The
mouse has five customizable buttons that
can be set to handle certain shortcuts and a
scroll wheel. The battery will last about nine
months, twice what is normally received
from a Bluetooth version, the company said.
Other new accessories use HP’s Link-5
technology. This allows users to connect up
to five HP compatible PC accessories with
one receiver, alleviating the need to fill up a
computer’s USB ports.
The Link-5 products are the: HP Wireless
Mini Keyboard, now shipping for $59; HP
Wireless Ultrathin Wireless Keyboard, now
shipping for $59; HP Wireless Elite v2 Keyboard,
shipping in July for $49; HP Wireless
Optical Comfort Mouse, shipping in June for
$29; HP Wireless Laser Comfort Mouse,
shipping in June for $39; and the HP Wireless
Mobile Mouse, shipping in June for $24.
