MIAMI — Genius announced two new specialty products recently, the FaceCam 1000 high-definition rotating webcam and a kids’ digital gaming tablet.

The FaceCam 1000 shoots 720p video, captures still images at up to 8 megapixels, can rotate 360 degrees, and comes bundled with CrazyTalk Cam Suite Pro software.

The webcam has a precise manual focus lens, the company said. It comes equipped with an image-protection mechanism feature for preventing unauthorized outside access with installation of the included driver (Windows only). It also has a built-on universal clip to attach to a notebook, LCD monitor or stand-alone base.

The bundled CrazyTalk Cam Suite Pro software (also Windows only) includes: a one-click YouTube upload button; Avatar Live, which can create facial expressions and voices; media desktop share to share video clips, photos and live desktop activity; and a monitor mode that converts the webcam into a security camera with motion detection.

The FaceCam 1000 Webcam itself is Mac compatible. It has a suggested retail of $34.99 and began shipping in November.

Genius also debuted its Kids Designer tablet, for ages 3 to 8. It comes inclusive with games for education as well as painting, drawing and writing functions. The game software is designed to help accelerate learning skills in colors, shape, math and thinking, among others, and includes some nonlearning games as well.

It has a 5-inch by 8-inch working space, 2,540 dpi resolution, a digital pen for drawing, and is available in orange or blue for a suggested $59.99. It is shipping now.
