Fellowes Optical Mouse Identifies By Fingerprint

Consumers get extra protection, mobility and convenience with the new portable SecureTouch optical laptop mouse from Fellowes.

The mouse offers integrated biometric fingertip identification, providing only intended users access to their computers, with just the touch of a finger.

The mouse eliminates the need to remember passwords and provides protection against unauthorized users. Its authenticator sensor allows fingerprints to be read below the surface of the skin to its "true" layer. Therefore, the SecureTouch is not affected by common skin surface conditions that can affect the sensor's ability to acquire accurate fingerprint images for user authentication purposes.

SecureTouch, at a suggested $99, incorporates three programmable buttons with advanced scroll wheel technology, USB connectivity and optical technology with quick response tracking on almost any surface. A CD software driver is included, along with a carrying case.
