Duracell is now shipping two new nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery chargers for high-drain portable devices, such as digital cameras or MP3 players.

The new Duracell Power Gauge Charger features an LED indicator that displays the charge status for each battery. It charges up to four AA or AAA NiMH batteries and also has a USB port for charging compatible USB-enabled devices.

The Mini Charger has a smaller form factor and charges two AA or AAA NiMH batteries.

The Duracell Mini Charger comes with two new rechargeable 1,000 AA NiMH batteries and has a suggested retail price of $11.99. The Duracell Power Gauge comes with four new 2,650 mAh AA NiMH batteries and has a suggested retail price of $26.99.

According to Duracell, the company's new rechargeable AA cells offer hundreds of photos per charge, and rechargeable AAA cells provide up to nine hours of music per charge. In addition to rechargeable batteries, the new lineup also includes Duracell PowerPix, a disposable digital battery that delivers twice as many shots as a standard alkaline battery, designed to meet the needs of moderate digital camera users.
