Allsop has launched its DVD Home Theatre Optimizer, an easy-to-use two-disc set which simplifies DVD and Surround Sound set-up and also cleans the DVD laser lens.

The set-up disc contains a comprehensive documentary-style step-by-step procedure for installing and calibrating any home theater system.

Designed to simplify home theater set-up to produce accurate pictures and sound, even with novices, the Optimizer offers video signal calibrations that include contrast, pluge, brightness, color-hue and sharpness. Surround Sound calibrations include phase tests, speaker level tests and subwoofer rattle tests.

The set-up disc offers menus and directions in English, Spanish and French, while a Web interactive DVD movie guide provides instant access to an index of over 2,000 movies on DVD.

A second disc offers an 8-brush laser lens cleaner which helps prevent skipping and mistracking. Suggested retail is $39.99.
