MARLBORO, N.J. — Adcom is offering ILS surge suppressors, said to offer higher levels of performance, safety and endurance compared with conventional metal oxide varistor (MOV) or MOV/gas tube-based systems.

Compared to conventional Shunt Mode (MOV type) suppressors, Adcom ILS design suppressors prevent explosions, suppress surge current as well as surge voltage, can suppress a surge of 6,000 volts and 3,000 amperes, do not deteriorate with repeated use and will not divert large surges to ground.

The ILS units can withstand 1,000 hits of 6,000 volts/3,000 amperes, will let through less than 330 volts and will cause no ground contamination.

Two models initially are available: the ACE-315, at a suggested retail of $249.95 and the ACE-615, with a suggested retail of $399.95.

The 615 offers two "always on" outlets, four switched outlets, two switched outlets with 10-second delay, one in 12-volt trigger, one phone input and one output and two coax inputs and two outputs.

The 315 offers two "always on" outlets, six switched outlets, one in 12-volt trigger, one phone input and one output, and one coax input and one output.
