Clarity Teams With
Captioning Firm
CHATTANOOGA, TENN. – Clarity
announced it has teamed up with
ClearCaptions, a telephone captioning
service innovator, to collaborate on the
design and distribution of telephony
products for the nearly 20 percent of
U. S. adults who have hearing loss.
Clarity’s current product line is designed
to make conversations louder,
clearer and easier for people with hearing
loss while also addressing other
age-related health challenges like low
vision, limited mobility and arthritis.
Clarity is a division of Plantronics.
ClearCaptions provides a service
that enables users to caption telephone
calls for any telephone and to
choose how and where they view their
captions.
Biometric iPhone 4
Case Demonstrated
MONTREAL — S.I.C. Biometrics announced
the launch of an iPhone 4 case
for consumers with a built-in biometric
fingerprint sensor. The case, called the
FID, uses a free app from SimpleTouch
Portal to allow users to access webbased
applications and social media
accounts with a finger swipe. S.I.C.
showed the FID at the CARTES security
industry exhibition in Paris last week.
The company did not announce when
the case will be available.
