Aries Manufacturing, a licensee of
Cobra Electronics, debuted the CBTH8 Bluetooth
headset. The over-the-head headset is part of Cobra’s
50-Year Anniversary Edition, the company said.
Features include T5 Sonance noise-cancellation
technology, the ability to be worn on either ear, flexible
boom microphone, one-touch controls, 20 hours
of talk time and 400 hours of standby time. Two
charging solution are provided: USB or car adapter.
According to the company, charge time is listed at
less than three hours. Suggested retail is $99.95.
The CBTH8 is currently available.
Netgear Offers Wireless 3D
SAN JOSE, CALIF. –
Netgear released a new 3D
wireless networking kit. The Netgear 3DHD Wireless
Home Networking kit can stream multiple 1080p video
streams through homes as large as 5,000 square
feet, the company said. This is done by using four
transmitters and four receivers built into each wireless
adapter. The kit ships in mid-November with a $259
suggested retail. Each kit comes with two adapters
with additional adapters available for $129.
Contour Ships 3D Glasses
Batteries To Retailers
AZUSA, CALIF. —
Perhaps a sign that 3D TV
may be gaining some traction at retail is the decision
by some major retailers to begin stocking
replacement coin-cell batteries for active-shutter
3D glasses in time for the holiday shopping season.
Contour Energy Systems announced the
company’s 2025 and 2032 coin-cell batteries,
specifically designed for 3D TV active-shutter
glasses, are available through newly established
retail partnerships with Amazon, Fry’s Electronics
and One Call, as well as CE distributor Petra.
Contour in its release cited research by the Consumer
Electronics Association showing “relatively
strong demand for 3D TV” -- with sales of more
than 3 million 3D TVs in 2010 and potential sales
to nearly triple to 8.25 million in 2011.
Genius Adds Wireless
Keyboard, Mouse Bundle
KYE Systems announced a new Genius
brand wireless keyboard/mouse bundle, the Luxemate
R820. The R820 is a rechargeable 2.4GHz
keyboard and mouse combo kit with an included
USB battery charger to prolong the battery life of
both the mouse and keyboard. It boasts “Apple-like
style keycaps” that are soft to the touch and 10 programmable
function keys, the company said. The
1,200 dpi optical mouse includes a mini receiver and
is also rechargeable. The Luxemate R820 has a suggested
retail of $54.90 and is shipping now.

iSimple Adds Bluetooth
To FM Kits
CLEARWATER, FLA. —
iSimple added to line of
FM modulator kits with a version that adds Bluetooth
and can be controlled via an Android app. The
TranzIt Blu (ISFM21) combines FM transmitting and
Bluetooth communication to enable wireless audio
streaming for “virtually any vehicle and any Android
smartphone,” the company said. The kit adds an
interference blocking system that reportedly disengages
the incoming antenna signal when audio
playback is detected.
